LIVING THE UPSIDE COMPETITION

Competition Terms & Conditions (“T’s & C’s”)

These T’s & C’s (as may be amended from time to time) explain your rights and obligations regarding the Competition. By entering or accepting a prize, you agree to these T’s & C’s. Please read them carefully and pay special attention to terms printed in bold.

1. Competition Name

Living the Upside Competition (“Competition”)

2. Promoter’s Details

This Competition is conducted by Horizon Shopping Centre (“Centre”), owned by Redefine Properties Limited (Registration Number: 1999/018591/06) (“Landlord”).

For purposes of these T’s & C’s:

  • The promoters are referred to collectively as “the Landlord”.
  • Entrants are referred to as “Participants” or “you.”

  1. Eligibility: Who May Enter

To enter the Competition, Participants must:

  • Be 18 years or older, with a valid South African ID or passport (for foreign nationals).
  • If under 18, provide written consent from a parent/guardian.
  • If under 15, entries must be submitted via a parent/guardian’s Facebook or Instagram profile.

  • Have access to Facebook, Instagram, and/or the internet.

Standard cellular and data rates apply.

4. Who May NOT Enter

The following persons are excluded:

  • Directors, members, partners, employees, agents, or consultants of the Landlord or the Mall.
  • Marketing service providers.

  • Anyone directly or indirectly controlling or controlled by these entities.

  • Immediate family members, life partners, or spouses of the above.

5. Competition Period

The Competition runs from 1 September 2025 to 30 September 2025. Entries received outside this period will not be considered.

6. How to Enter

To enter the Competition, a Participant will be required, for the duration of the Competition Period to:

  1. visit the Mall’s Facebook and/or Instagram pages at Benmore Centre | Sandton | Facebook and/or Benmore (@benmorecentre) • Instagram photos and videos(“Social Page”);
  2. navigate the Page to locate the Competition post (“Competition Post”);

III. comment on the post by answering the question “What does living the upside mean to your kids?”

  1. use the Hashtag #Livingtheupside V. follow the prompts to submit your entry (“Entry”).

Upon compliance with I-V above a Participant will automatically be deemed to have entered the Competition. There are no additional charges for participating in the Competition. Standard data costs apply as per the Participant’s service provider and existing price plan for data usage.

7. Limitation on Entries

Each Participant may submit only one entry during the Competition Period.

8. Winner Selection

The Winner will be chosen via a random electronic selection process conducted by the Landlord.

  1. Winner Announcement

The Winner will be announced on or before 7 October 2025 (or any date determined by the Landlord).

  1. Prizes

The Winners shall receive a share of vouchers worth R2000.00 (Two Thousand Rands) which includes:

(i) 2 x R250 (Two Hundred and Fifty Rand) vouchers from The Vegan Chef ;

(ii) 2 x R250 (Two Hundred and Fifty Rand) vouchers from Sorbet Man ;

(iii) 1 x R500 (Five Hundred Rand) voucher from Toyzone ;

  1. iv) 1 x R500 (Five Hundred Rand) voucher from Fournos .

The Prizes are courtesy of the Landlord and is subject to the T’s and C’s that may be imposes by the Landlord from time to time. The Prize is not transferable and will not be changed, deferred, or exchanged for cash for any reason whatsoever.

11. Winner Notification

The Landlord will use all reasonable efforts to contact the Winner during business hours. If the Landlord is unable to contact or reach the Winner/s within 7 (seven) days of having informed the Winner/s that he/she has won, the Entry by that person will be disqualified and a further random automated draw will be conducted by the Landlord to determine another Winner. That Winner will also be contacted by the Landlord via any of the abovementioned media portals, as soon as reasonably practicable.

  1. Prize Collection

Once the Winner has been announced, the Winner must make book an appointment with the Mall’s Marketing Department using the details provided on item 17, below. Upon confirmation of the appointment slot, the Winner must their way to the centre management office (“Centre Management”) located in the Mall, on allocated time and date to uplift the Prize. The Winner must:

(i) appear in person;

(ii) be able to furnish a copy of his/her identity document or valid passport upon upliftment of the Prize. The Winner acknowledges and accepts that s/he will be required to complete a waiver before the Prize can be handed over.

The Landlord reserves the right to withhold the Prize until the Winner completes same.

  1. Deadline for Prize Collection

If the Winner does not redeem the Prize by 31 October 2025, the Prize will expire.

  1. Data Usage & Privacy Policy

Participants acknowledge that the Landlord may collect and use personal information, including:

  • Full name,
  • Physical address,

  • Email address,

  • Mobile number,

  • Images/photographs.

Data may be used for future marketing, unless the Participant opts out. Information will be treated confidentially and disclosed only if required by law.

For the duration of the Competition Period, a copy of these T’s and C’s can, at no cost be found on the following website: https://benmorecentre.co.za/

  1. General Terms

16.1 The Landlord may terminate the Competition before its closing date without liability. 16.2 The Landlord is not responsible for lost or misdirected entries caused by technical failures.
16.3 Entry constitutes automatic acceptance of these T’s & C’s. 16.4 A Participant may not win more than one prize within a 30-day period. 16.5 Winners may be photographed for promotional purposes on the Mall’s platforms. Winners may decline publication.
16.6 The Landlord makes no warranties that participation will result in winning or that prizes will meet expectations.
16.7 The Landlord is not liable for any accident, harm, loss, or damages unless caused by fraud or gross negligence.
16.8 Participants must comply with all applicable laws, including IP rights.
16.9 These T’s & C’s are governed by South African law. 16.10 The Landlord’s decisions are final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into.

  1. Amendment of T’s & C’s

The Landlord reserves the right to amend these T’s & C’s, provided reasonable notice is given.

  1. Marketing Communication

By entering, Participants consent to their contact details being stored for marketing purposes, unless they opt out by:

  • Ticking the box provided, or
  • Contacting the Landlord at  010 045 7220 or Tineiln@Redefine.co.za 

Participants who initially consent may withdraw at any time using the same contact details.
