LIVING THE UPSIDE – OUR CHILDREN, OUR HERITAGE COMPETITION

Competition Terms & Conditions (“T’s & C’s”)

These Competition T’s & C’s, as may be amended from time to time, explain your rights and duties in respect of the Competition. By participating and/or accepting any prize, you agree to these terms. Please read carefully and pay special attention to terms printed in bold.

  1. Name of the Competition

Living the Upside – Our Children, Our Heritage Competition

  1. Promoter’s Details

This Competition is promoted by Benmore Centre (“Mall”) and Redefine Retail Proprietary Limited (Registration Number: 2012/079189/07) (“Landlord”).
 In these T’s & C’s, the above are collectively referred to as “the Landlord”. Entrants are referred to as “Participants” or “you”.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  1. Eligibility – Who May Enter?

Participants must:

  • Be South African residents aged 18 years and older;


  • Hold a valid identity document or passport;


  • Have an internet-enabled device (cellphone, tablet, or laptop) with access to the internet.
    Note: Standard cellular/data rates as per the Participant’s service provider apply.
  1. Who May Not Enter

The Competition is not open to:

  • Directors, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, tenants of the Landlord at the Mall;


  • Suppliers of the Mall, marketing service providers;


  • Any person directly or indirectly controlled by these entities, including spouses, life partners, business partners, or immediate family members.


  1. Entry Period

The Competition runs from 2 September 2025 until 24 September 2025 (“Competition Entry Period”).
 Entries received after this period will not be considered.

  1. How to Enter

To enter, Participants must:

  1. Visit the Mall’s Facebook or Instagram pages:

  1. Locate the Competition Post.


  2. Comment on the post answering: “What does living the upside mean to your kids?”


  3. Use the hashtag: #Livingtheupside


  4. Follow prompts to submit your entry (“Entry”).


Note: There are no additional charges for entering. Standard data costs apply.

  1. Limitation on Entries

Each Participant may only enter once during the Competition Entry Period.

  1. Winner Selection & Prizes
  • 6 Winners will be randomly selected by the Landlord.


  • Selection is final and at the sole discretion of the Landlord.


  • An independent auditor will oversee the process.


  1. Winner Notification

Winners will be notified telephonically and must collect their prizes from the Centre Management Offices, or provide details for email delivery.

  1. The Prize

Winners will share vouchers worth R2000.00:

  • 2 × R250 vouchers from The Vegan Chef


  • 2 × R250 vouchers from Sorbet Man


  • 1 × R500 voucher from Toyzone


  • 1 × R500 voucher from Fournos


Note: Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.

  1. How Winners Will Be Contacted
  • The Landlord will make reasonable efforts to contact Winners during business hours.


  • If a Winner cannot be reached within 7 days, their Entry will be disqualified, and another Winner will be randomly selected.


  1. Prize Collection
  • Winners must book an appointment with the Mall’s Marketing Department (details in item 17).


  • Winners must collect the Prize in person at the Centre Management Office, with:
    A valid ID or passport.
    Completion of a waiver form before receiving the Prize.
  1. Deadline for Claiming Prize

All Prizes must be redeemed by 31 October 2025. After this date, unclaimed prizes will expire.

  1. Data Usage & Privacy

By entering, Participants consent to the Landlord collecting and using personal information, including:

  • Full name


  • Physical address


  • Email address


  • Mobile number


  • Images/photographs


Personal information may be used for future marketing, unless Participants opt out. Information will be treated confidentially and only disclosed if required by law.

  1. General Terms
  1. The Landlord may terminate the Competition at any time due to circumstances beyond its control.
  2. The Landlord is not responsible for technical malfunctions, delays, or errors beyond its control.
  3. Participation constitutes automatic acceptance of these T’s & C’s.
  4. Winners may not win another Mall competition within 30 days.
  5. Winners may be photographed for promotional purposes (social media, website, industry publications). Winners may decline.
  6. Participants may not post harmful, offensive, or irrelevant content.
  7. Participation is at your own risk. The Landlord is not liable for damage, loss, or harm unless caused by fraud or gross negligence.
  8. Participants must comply with all applicable laws, including intellectual property laws.
  9. All disputes and decisions are final and binding.


  10. T’s & C’s are governed by South African law.


  1. Amendments

The Landlord reserves the right to amend these T’s & C’s with prior reasonable notice.
